For Honor has a new event running right now, named ‘Shadows of the Hitokiri’, and it’s introducing some new elements into the game.
Shadows of the Hitokiri – named after the new samurai who joined in the game in its current season – was shown off during Ubisoft’s E3 presentation, sort-of – the trailer, embedded below, delves into the mythology around a bloodthirsty samurai spirit that is apparently spreading doom.
In ‘Soul Rush’ mode, you’ll similarly need to unleash your own bloodlust to claim victory.
As detailed by Ubisoft on their site’s news page, Soul Rush mode challenges two teams – samurai and viking – to face off against each other in the “dark village of Kaidan”, in a contest to collect the most souls from soldiers.
As you kill your enemies, you build up your stockpile of souls – but if a hero from the other team kills you, you’ll lose those souls, and your killer will claim a portion of them. Players will need to store the souls at certain points around the map, and the first team to 1000 points wins.
There are also new Illustrious Outfits, emotes and effects being added to the game for this event.
The update is available from now until June 27, while the Hitokiri bundle and the event-specific emotes and effects will be available until July 1.
